Our position on modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chain.
Our commitment
Implex Solutions Ltd is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings, and to putting effective systems and controls in place to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking play no part in our business or our supply chain. We consider any form of forced labour, bonded labour, child labour or human trafficking to be wholly unacceptable.
We publish this statement voluntarily. Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a statement from commercial organisations above a £36 million annual turnover threshold; we fall below it. We publish anyway because our clients are entitled to know where we stand, and because the standard we hold ourselves to should not depend on our size.
Our business and supply chain
We are a UK-based information technology consultancy and software provider, operating from G16, Barking Enterprise Centre, Barking, Essex, United Kingdom. We provide consulting, hosting, support, data and communications services, and we develop our own software products.
Our supply chain is short and concentrated in low-risk categories. It consists principally of:
- Data centre, cloud hosting and connectivity providers
- Software vendors and licensing intermediaries
- Professional services — accounting, legal and insurance
- Contract technical staff engaged on client projects
- Office facilities, equipment and general business supplies
Our assessment of risk
We assess the overall risk of modern slavery within our own operations as low. Our workforce is UK-based, skilled, directly engaged, and paid at or above market rates for professional technology work. We carry out right-to-work checks on everyone we engage, and we do not use unregulated labour agencies.
Where residual risk exists, it sits further down our supply chain — in the manufacture of the hardware our providers operate, and in the facilities and cleaning services attached to premises we do not control. We recognise that our leverage over those tiers is limited, and we do not claim visibility we do not have. Our response is to concentrate on the suppliers we contract with directly.
The steps we take
- We engage our people directly, on written terms, with pay at or above the relevant statutory minimum, and we verify the right to work of everyone we take on.
- We favour established suppliers who are themselves subject to the Modern Slavery Act reporting duty, and we review the published statements of those who are.
- We expect our suppliers and subcontractors to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and to hold their own suppliers to a comparable standard.
- We will end a relationship with any supplier or contractor found to be involved in modern slavery or human trafficking.
- Anyone working with us who has a concern about modern slavery — in our business or in any organisation we work with — can raise it directly with the directors at info@implexsolutions.com. Concerns raised in good faith will be investigated, and no one will be disadvantaged for raising one.
Review
This statement is reviewed annually and updated whenever our business or supply chain changes materially. It is approved by the directors of Implex Solutions Ltd.
